Video glossary for businesses

Twenty words you will meet in Relsko and on social platforms, explained without jargon.

Short video (reel)
A vertical video of roughly 10 to 60 seconds for Instagram Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts. In Relsko one project produces three edited versions of one concept.
Vertical format 9:16
A picture that is taller than it is wide, 1080×1920 pixels. It fills a phone screen. Relsko crops horizontal footage to this format automatically.
Footage
The raw videos and photos you filmed and have not edited yet. Relsko works only with your own footage.
Opening line (hook)
The text and the shot in the first two seconds. It tells the viewer what they will get if they keep watching.
Captions
Text inside the video. It can be a transcript of speech or short statements. Most people watch with the sound off, so captions decide whether the message lands.
Post text
The text under the published video on the social network. It is not the same as captions inside the video.
Concept
One direction for your video, for example the offer, the craft or the atmosphere. The assistant proposes three and you choose one.
Cut variant
One of three edited versions of the concept you chose. The variants differ in pace, length and treatment.
Brief
Your description of what the video should show and what the viewer should do. The clearer it is, the better the concepts fit.
Shot list
A list of shots to film, with the angle, the length and what happens in each one. Relsko writes it from your goal before you start filming.
Extra shots (b-roll)
Shots that are not the main action: hands, details, the workplace. They cover cuts and make a video livelier.
Talking head
A shot where you speak straight into the camera. It works best in daylight, with one idea per sentence.
Before and after
Two comparable shots of the same subject from the same angle, before and after your work. The strongest format for visible crafts.
Standard export
The fast export: clean captions and an opening title over your cut, 1080×1920. Available to everyone.
Animated export (beta)
Titles rendered frame by frame: the opening title springs in and captions highlight each word. It takes longer and is in beta.
Processing
The time when the service analyses your footage and renders the video. It depends on the length of the footage, the captions and the current load.
Brand settings
Your brand name, accent colour, closing call to action and banned words. Relsko applies them to every video.
Call to action
What the viewer should do at the end: come in, book, order, apply. One clear action works better than three.
A link that shows a client the previews without logging in. They approve or ask for changes with a comment.
Safe zones
The edges of the screen covered by platform buttons and texts. Keep important text away from them, or it will be hidden.
